Description:
Western Food (Hawker) is a term that refers to a style of fusion food in Singapore, combining British / American style grilling or pan frying, with Chinese style cooking and presentation, originated by Hainanese chefs who used to work for the Colonial British in Singapore.


Typically, Western Food (Hawker) features 1 main type of meat / fish, served together with coleslaw salad, sliced cucumbers, sliced tomatoes, english chips / french fries, baked beans and a piece of toasted baguette / French loaf bread / bun. The baguette / bun is usually spread with butter, or a garlic spread.

The 1 main type of meat / fish for Western Food (Hawker) is typically beef (Beef Steak), chicken (Chicken Chop), fish (Fish And Chips), pork (Pork Chop) or lamb (Lamb Chop).

For Beef Steak, Western Food (Hawker) stalls normally use cuts of sirloin, rib eye, tenderloin or t-bone.
