Launched in November 2016, CellaRaid is the world's 1st on-demand wine delivery service, operating purely through their website online. Positioned as a lifestyle curator, the team at CellaRaid has their certified sommelier pick vintage fine wines from producers worldwide. They then create themed tasting sets of 3 different wines, served in unique bottled wine vials, each consisting of 75ml / a glass worth of wine. With new wines available weekly, this allows consumers the flexibility and convenience of sampling various vintage fine wines, without having to purchase the whole bottle.

As a luxury brand, CellaRaid retails their tasting sets in categories:

The Explore Set (SGD $68 for 3 x 75ml Wine Vials) features undiscovered vintage fine wines, sourced from up-and-coming wineries (estimated retail value of up to $500)

The Experience Set (SGD $75 for 3 x 75ml Wine Vials) features selected premium fine wines, sourced from established, reowned wineries (estimated retail value of $500 - $700)

The Indulge Set (SGD $99 for 3 x 75ml Wine Vials) features the finest and rarest wines, sourced from the world’s most famous vineyards, the bottles are often a result of excellent growing conditions in a particular year (estimated retail value of $700 - $1,000 or more)


Utilising the latest disruptive technology of the wine-making world, CellaRaid ensures that extracting the fine wines from the bottle, and transferring it to the wine vials, does not compromise the taste, quality, or character of the wine in anyway. This device, known as Coravin, was developed by Greg Lambrecht in July 2013, and allows CellaRaid to extract wine directly from corked bottles, without opening it.

Coravin, a stainless-steel contraption, looks like a microscope incorporating a long needle. This needle is inserted through the foil and cork of the bottle, and allows as much or as little wine to be extracted. The remaining space is then filled with inert argon gas from a replaceable cylinder, attached to the device. When the needle is extracted, the springy cork reseals itself and the only trace that remains is a little pinprick in the foil. This prevents the wine from oxidising.

CellaRaid typically delivers within 60 - 120 minutes from the time of order, a decent on-demand wine service. Staff do take the time to describe the wine briefly, ensuring you know its character, and how to appreciate it. CellaRaid has also started offering wine and food pairing, in these situations, they've even recommended how best to pair for maximum enjoyment. Overall, CellaRaid provides a unique luxury service, best suited for individual wine drinkers who want to sample variety, those who like vintage / premium / rare wines, or those who like novelty and are able to afford it. Due to the limited stock of wines they procure, and the rarity, CellaRaid cannot repeat tasting sets, once sold out, they won't be able to get the label again.

The Villa Trasqua Trasgaia Rosso Di Toscana IGT 1999 is a premium red wine, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 50% Sangiovese, produced by Tenuta Villa Trasqua, in the Castellina Scalo area, Monteriggioni comune, Siena province, Tuscany region of Italy. It has a deep ruby red colour, with aromas of ripe black cherry, blueberry, nutmeg, and black pepper. Body is elegant, balanced, and structured, with a pleasantly intense and persistent presence. Taste is sweet smoky earthy, with notes of plums, blackcurrant, oak, and leather. Finish is lingering yet soft. Rather harmonious, and the strong smoky spicy notes will appeal to serious wine connoisseurs.

Villa Trasqua Trasgaia Rosso Di Toscana IGT 1999



The CARM (Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira) Douro Reserva Vinho Branco 2014 is a premium white wine, a blend of 50% Rabigato, 25% Codega De Larinho / Roupeiro, and 25% Viosinho, produced by CARM (Casa Agricola Roboredo Madeira), in the Douro DOC, Vila Nova De Foz Côa municipality, Guarda district, Norte region of Portugal. It has a pale green yellow colour, with aromas of grapefruit, shale, pear, and lemon. Body is clean, refreshing, and light, with a pleasantly broad yet dry feel. Taste is bitter sweet floral mineral, with notes of green apples, peach, chalk, and lime. Finish is medium and balanced. Rather aromatic, and the gentle but complex layers will appeal to serious wine connoisseurs.

CARM (Casa Agrícola Roboredo Madeira) Douro Reserva Vinho Branco 2014



The Domaine Bernard & Thierry Glantenay Les Santenots Volnay Premier Cru 2002 is a premium red wine, made from 100% Pinot Noir sourced from a specific area, the Volnay-Santenots climats, a highly regarded Premier Cru vineyard. Produced by Domaine Bernard & Thierry Glantenay, in the Pommard commune, Côte-d'Or department, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of France. It has a dark maroon black colour, with aromas of ripe black cherry, cloves, limestone, and raspberry. Body is fragrant, velvety smooth, and deep, with a flavour that gradually unfolds and envelops the palate. Taste is savoury sweet earthy spicy, with notes of star anise, mushrooms, blackberry, and morello cherry. Finish is medium-short, lingering slightly and fading quickly towards the end. Rather robust, meaty, and surprising.

Domaine Bernard & Thierry Glantenay Les Santenots Volnay Premier Cru 2002



The Winemakers' Collection Andrea Franchetti Cuvée No. 3 Château d'Arsac 2007 (SGD $68) is a vintage red wine, a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, produced from start to end by Italian winemaker Andrea Franchetti (picture on the bottle), in the Bordeaux wine area, Haut-Médoc AOC, Gironde department, Nouvelle-Aquitaine region of France. This is part of a special wine-making project where each year, a single vineyard parcel from Chateau d’Arsac is completely controlled by a single, world-renowned winemaker, who produces 5,000 cases of a single wine.

It has a deep ruby garnet colour, with aromas of cedar, plum, turmeric, and mushroom. Body is smooth, medium thin, low acidity, low tannins, making it easy drinking. Taste is fruity sweet with a slight savoury undertone, notes of blackberry, leather, cherry, and oak. Finish is dry with a short length. Well balanced, flavours of fruit is stronger than flavours of wood or spice, makes for a great starter wine, good for beginners. Best paired with roasted meat, barbecued meat, salt marinated food, earthy tasting food, and heavy meat gravy.

We did a pairing of Winemakers' Collection Andrea Franchetti Cuvée No. 3 Château d'Arsac 2007 with Roast Paradise - Char Siew / Marinated Roast Pork Loin (SGD $49 Promotion Price), and the result was fantastic. The char siew / marinated roast pork loin has that slight crisp char, slight greasy texture, and bold flavours of savoury salty with a meaty chew. The wine, with its fruity sweet savoury flavours and smooth, easy drinking texture complements so well. This retailed at SGD $49 for a limited time only, as a promotion price, and included 3 x 75ml wine vials and 200g of char siew / marinated roast pork loin.
