Have fond memories of pleasant dining experiences at Element Restaurant, including their festive Christmas menu for 2017. For the upcoming Chinese New Year 2018, Element Restaurant is introducing a one-time only fortuitous reunion dinner feast on 15 February 2018 from 6pm at their Grand Ballroom. In addition, they're offering a month-long sale of delectable festive goodies, which we had the good fortune to sample, thus bringing us good fortune.

The Black Pepper Crayfish have a generous coating of sharp spicy black pepper gravy, thick and rich in flavour. Complements the meaty fresh crayfish meat well.

The Peranakan inspired Cucumber With Sesame Dressing has a lovely juicy crunch to texture, while the nutty vegetal sweet flavours entice the palate.

The unique Vegetarian Treasure Pot / Poon Choi / Pen Cai (SGD $188 / $288) is a first for me... never heard of a vegetarian version before! Execution almost replicates the hardier meaty textures, and I love the lightness of the gravy too.

With the Prosperity Yu Sheng (SGD $68 / $98), Chef Charles Goh has prepared this fortune platter with ingredients in the shape of a dog. Creative, and the usual ingredients feature here. Also served as part of their one-time only reunion dinner feast on 15 February 2018.

Loved the Drunken Chicken With Herbs, with its fresh, chilled, clean taste. Lovely tender juicy texture, and a light sweet savoury herbal flavour.

The Roasted Chicken With Spicy Sichuan Sauce (SGD $48) wasn't as spicy as I thought it'll be. Nicely smoky savoury sweet, with a slight kick of spice, but lacking the fiery bite of chili. Pretty good.

The Smoked Duck With Camphor & Tea Leaves (SGD $68) has robust earthy herbal savoury salty flavours, with a tender chew to the duck meat and a slight crispy crunch to the skin. I like this.

The Homemade Beetroot Salmon is a simple appetizer with slices of tender salmon fish marinated in beetroot juice, giving it a lovely red hue.

Another variation is the Homemade Mandarin Orange Salmon, with tender slices of salmon fish dressed in a sharp sour sweet zesty Mandarin orange sauce. This gives it a bright, refreshing feel on the palate.

The Beef Bourguignon is well executed, with the meaty slices of beef having a soft, tender chew. Robust notes of savoury meaty with a hint of salty, and the garnish of crunchy asparagus, soft pearl onions, and juicy cherry tomatoes give it a bright vegetal sweet contrast of flavours.

The Chilled Angel Hair Pasta With Truffle Oil & Kombu is deeply earthy, contrasted by the chilled texture. Wish it was slightly less intense though, the truffle oil overwhelmed all other flavours here.

The Pomelo Tang Yuan is delicate in flavour, with a light sweet freshness. The chewy balls of glutinous rice are contrasted by juicy bits of pomelo fruit here.

The team specialises in cempedak desserts, so it's no surprise their new Cempedak Pudding dessert is tasty. Lovely wobbly soft texture to the pudding, with bright bursts of fruity sweet cempedak bits within.

The Cempedak Swiss Roll Cake is well executed. Having a lovely soft moist texture, but an intense fruity sweet cempedak flavour. Still can taste the buttery hint in the cake here.
